Bechtel, in their Frederick Maryland Facility, will be sponsoring a 1/2 day
workshop September 20th from 9 am to 1 pm on FLL programming. Although the
workshop is primarily geared to EV3 programming, both EV3 and NXT handouts
will be available. Topics include project brainstorming, setting goals,
program flow and diagrams that help understanding it, robot motion, sensors,
naming, and other tips and best practices used by successful FLL teams. The
session is open to students and mentor members of all teams regardless of
location or affiliation. To get the most out of the session, it’s
recommended that student and mentors bring a laptop with the appropriate
development software on it but the exercises and discussion can be done
without them.
Bechtel’s Frederick Maryland Facility is located at 5275 Westview Drive just
off the intersection of Rt 70 and Rt 270 next to the Francis Scott Key Mall.
RSVP is required and should be sent to Josh Long’s email at
[log in to unmask] If you have any questions, you can contact him at
703-429-6237. Note the RSVP is required so that badges can be assembled for
the attendees. The cut off is a 65 attendees or Thursday September 18th COB
– whichever occurs first.
