Hi folks,
there is an official FLL ruling (and clarification) posted at
http://firstlegoleague.org/challenge/projectfaq
3 - CAN OUR TEAM’S SENIOR PARTNER PARTICIPATE IN OUR PRESENTATION AT A
TOURNAMENT?
Only team members may participate in the judging sessions at a
tournament. If your tournament allows spectators in the Project
judging rooms, you are welcome to invite your senior partner to watch
your team in action. Check with your tournament organizer if you have
any questions about which parts of the tournament are open to
spectators.
So the previous answers are correct--the Senior Partner may observe
project judging as one of the team's adult companions, but may not
directly be a part of the project presentation.
Also note this limitation:
6 – CAN WE SHOW A VIDEO OF OUR SENIOR PARTNER DURING OUR PROJECT PRESENTATION?
This is a clarification of number 3 [above]. The rule that only team
members may participate in Project judging sessions does apply to
videos that your team may show during the presentation. This does not
rule out showing pictures of your team’s senior partner or finding
creative ways to portray your senior partner, but only team members
may act out, demonstrate, sing, dance, speak or otherwise actively
participate in your team’s presentation.
