We did it once - 2 field kits between 3 teams, meeting in 3 locations.
Wouldn't recommend it now, but at the time thought we would have better
access to one we could keep based at school. So you might find it workable.

I just registered another team today and got #8359 - wondering how close we
got to the cut-off?
