Greetings FLL Coaches and Teams!

Thinking about starting an FTC team? Know of anyone in your community 
who might want to form an FTC team? If so, we have great news to report!
FIRST has released their graduation grants for FTC teams with at least 
one FLL graduate!

For the 2012-2013 FTC season, recent FLL graduates are eligible for two 
grants from FIRST and the LEGO Foundation.  Read this press release for 
details.

FIRST Graduation Grants

This grant is for rookie FTC teams with at least one FLL graduate and 
covers the FTC team registration fee of $275 and provides $300 towards 
parts and materials for the competition.  To be eligible, your team 
must meet the following criteria:

You are a rookie FTC team (a new team that did not exist prior to the 
2012-2013 FTC season).
At least one member of your rookie team participated as a member of an 
FLL team in one of the last four seasons.
Your team must have an affiliation with a non-profit organization 
willing to accept funds on your behalf.
Once you've determine your team meets those criteria, follow these 
steps:

Fill out the Graduation Grant Application
Have your affiliated organization fill out a W-9 tax document
Have your affiliated organization fill out the FIRST regrant form
Submit these documents via e-mail to [log in to unmask]
Already registered and paid for your 2012-2013 FTC season but meet the 
grant criteria?  Not a problem.  Just follow the application steps to 
have your registration fee reimbursed*!

*Funds are reimbursed via the same method your payment was made

LEGO Foundation Grant

This grant is available to rookie FTC teams with at least one FLL 
graduate and provides $100 per FLL graduate, up to $300 max per team, 
towards an FTC Competition Kit (with or without MINDSTORMS) at 
FTCrobots.com.

To be eligible, your team must meet the following criteria:

You must register and pay for their 2012-2013 FTC season.
Have a valid rookie team number.
At least one member of your team must have participated in FLL in one 
of the last four FLL seasons.
Once these criteria are met, you will gain access to FTCrobots.com via 
the FIRST  Team Information Management System.  Once inside the PITSCO 
store, follow the instructions provided there.  This grant is 
administered by LEGO Education North America.

Teams may apply for one or both of these grants.  The FIRST Graduation 
Grant and the LEGO Foundation Grant are available on a first-come, 
first-served basis to U.S. teams.
