Don't be concerned about any markings on the mat until you read the
Field Setup. You can look at them for entertainment value now, if
your team would enjoy that.
No markings on the mat have any meaning except as specified in the
Field Setup, Missions, Rules, and Updates.
Remember, in FLL, "If a detail isn't mentioned, then it doesn't matter."
In previous years, there have been markings on the mat that might have
looked like they related to a model, but didn't turn out to have any
model associated with them.
The bottom line is that it is too early to worry!
