Tom,
We trolled the local Best Buy and found some decent HP laptops for $239. They have 15in screens, Core i5 processors, 6 gb ram, and 500 gb hard drives. They run Windows 8.1 but don't have touch screens. From my perspective, touch screens are nice but they don't seem to hold up as well as just using a mouse - particularly with kids.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] Inexpensive EV3 compatible device feedback
Hi coaches,
Before I start my spring after school robotics club/program, I need to get two more laptops/devices to run the EV3 software (to maximize student engagement 3 to 4 students per laptop and kit). Two questions for those of you that care to and can help:
1. Does anyone have recommendations on an inexpensive device that can run the EV3 software efficiently?
2. Is the EV3 software "touchscreen-friendly," or is best to use a mouse or track pad?
Thanks,
Tom
