If you get the expansion kit your team can construct & modify more of the Spike Prime builds. In addition, they will have more room to create.
Both our teams switched from EV3 kits to Spike Prime and found that expansion kits were necessary.

After seeing the cool things that the spike prime can do at the FLL competition, we were interested in purchasing one for our team.
Do we get just the Spike Prime kit or do we also need to purchase the expansion kit also?
Thank you for your help. We had a fun competition weekend.
