Comments on the Ramp, Lever, Handle, and Syringe:
The Ramp Lever should be set near 2:00 as viewed from the east, as described in the building instructions and Ruling 23. The rear wheels are held by the stopper, and the front wheels are near the top of the ramp, as described in the Field Setup.
In my (manual) experience, depressing the handle almost all the way to the mat (but not quite), allows the syringe to roll down the ramp and into Base. Pushing the handle fast or hard will typically cause the syringe to roll over the top of the ramp. I expect the syringe to roll into Base every time when it is released without going off the top of the ramp. This is the way that the competition tables will be setup and checked next weekend.
I caught one lever on a competition table at a tournament that seemed to be slightly off (it needed to be pushed all the way to the mat to release the syringe), and corrected it. We also had teams at tournaments who thought that they were being helpful by reassembling, incorrectly, the ramps and levers on the practice tables. We plan to check the practice tables at the tournament carefully, too, so teams should not need to reassemble them.
