The Society of Jewish Ethics

                           2009 Call for Papers

The  next meeting of the Society of Jewish Ethics will be held at the Hyatt
Regency  Chicago  hotel  in  Chicago,  Illinois, January 8-11, 2009.  Paper
proposals  dealing  with  any  aspect  of  Jewish  ethics  — theoretical or
applied,   classical  or  contemporary,  textual  or  philosophical  —  are
especially welcome.

Proposals  should  include:   tentative  title,  abstract  (500-600 words),
selected  bibliography,  and  contact  information  of the presenter (name,
institutional affiliation, phone numbers, and e-mail address).

       The deadline for submission of proposals is April 30th, 2008.

The  Society  of Jewish Ethics is an academic organization dedicated to the
promotion  of  scholarly  work in the field of Jewish ethics, including the
relation  of  Jewish  ethics  to  other traditions of ethics and to social,
economic,  political, medical and cultural problems.  The Society also aims
to  encourage  and  improve  the  teaching  of  Jewish  ethics in colleges,
universities and theological schools, to promote an understanding of Jewish
ethics within the Jewish community and society as a whole, and to provide a
community  of  discourse  and  debate  for  those engaged professionally in
Jewish ethics.

All participants in the Annual Meeting of the Society of Jewish Ethics must
be  members  of  the  Society.  For membership forms and other information,
please consult the website: http://societyofjewishethics.org/.

The  Society of Jewish Ethics annual conference runs concurrently with that
of  the  Society of Christian Ethics.  Presented papers may be eligible for
publication in the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics.
