Please pass along this job notification to anyone who will be in or near UM-Flint next year and who may have an interest in working for our Philosophy Department part-time.  Classes are small (capped at 30, usually around 25 students per session) and faculty have control over course design.  To clarify, the "salary" identified below is PER COURSE and, at this time, we are committed to offering two courses per major semester (as stated in bold). Job Summary
Minimum salary for this position is $3413.
The University of Michigan-Flint Philosophy Department is seeking a part-time lecturer (LEO Lecturer I) for Fall 2016 and Winter 2017 semesters.  The lecturer will teach predominantly Philosophy 101, Introduction to Philosophy, but may also be asked to teach an introduction to Ethics class.  At present it is envisioned that there will be two sections per semester (4 total), and they will be split between on-campus classes and off campus classes, taught at a university level but to high school students (in Clarkston and/or Swartz Creek).

Required Qualifications*
Applicants must possess an MA in Philosophy and have experience teaching introductory philosophy courses.  Preference will be given to applicants who either have a Ph.D. or are ABD.
