In addition to celebrating Lorraine Code's winning of
the distinguished woman philosopher award, the Eastern Society for Women
in Philosophy is beginning the process of selecting next year's winner.
To that end the current committee needs two new members.  Any
philosopher who is employed or housed in a nation with a SWIP chapter is
eligible to apply to be a member of the committee. The committee
encourages diversity of rank, as well as of specialization, so junior
scholars and those who work in underrepresented areas of philosophy are
strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be members or join ESWIP (dues are $10,
$20 or $30, dependent on employment status). To apply, please send the
following information to Maeve O'Donovan, at [log in to unmask]: a
current curriculum vitae , a brief statement of your interest in serving
on the committee, your qualifications, and proof of your commitment to
the discipline of philosophy in the form of an academic position in
philosophy, publications in the field, or other evidence deemed
acceptable by the committee.

The deadline in December 31, 2009.

To join ESWIP, or to renew your membership, visit our
membership website: http://www.savannahstate.edu/eswip/membership.htm
