Greetings, and apologies for cross-posting, as I am placing this on more than one list-serve to ensure wide receipt in our constrained time frame. Please consider forwarding this to ABDs near completion as well as graduated Ph.D.s. Although I am not the chair to whom to direct the application, interested philosophers are welcome to ask me any questions you may have!

St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy, beginning in August 2010. We seek individuals who are committed to teaching undergraduates in a public liberal arts setting. AOS: Ethics. AOC: Environmental Ethics or Feminist Philosophy. Completed Ph.D.’s preferred. Ability to teach logic and analytic tradition desired. Teaching load: three courses per semester. Non-sectarian since its founding, St. Mary's College of Maryland, a public Carnegie Baccalaureate, Arts and Sciences institution located in Historic St. Mary's City, 70 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., has been designated as Maryland's public honors college. With highly selective admissions policies, academically talented students, and a rigorous curriculum, we offer a small college experience similar to that found at exceptional private colleges. The quality of life is enhanced by the recreational opportunities of the Chesapeake region and by our proximity to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, CV, and three letters of reference by July 12, 2010 to: Björn Krondorfer, Chair, Professor of Religious Studies Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, 18952 E. Fisher Rd., St. Mary’s City, MD 20686-3001.
