TRAVEL DETAILS:

Location of Meeting Sessions
All meeting sessions will be held in the Big Ten Room (Room 104) on Northwestern’s Evanston campus. The Big Ten room is located in Norris University Center, as shown on the campus map: http://maps.northwestern.edu 

Evanston to & from downtown Chicago
Northwestern University’s main campus is in Evanston IL, on the Lake Michigan shore just north of Chicago. Traveling from Evanston to downtown Chicago (“the Loop”) via public transportation is easy and affordable. They are connected by both the CTA (“the L”) and Metra train systems. The L purple line and Metra Union Pacific North line each have Davis St. stations in downtown Evanston, approximately 0.5 miles southwest of Northwestern. Fares
1st Ride:                $2.00 (bus) and $2.25 (train)
1st Transfer:                $0.25
2nd Transfer:                Free

1-Day Pass:                $5.75
3-Day Pass:                $14.00

You cannot use cash in order to ride the CTA trains; you must purchase 
either a pass or a fare card.  Passes and fare cards will work on buses and 
trains, but will not work on the Metra (commuter train).

 
Getting to Evanston: by Car
From I-94 (whether coming from the north or south), take exit 35 onto Old Orchard Road. 
Continue east on Old Orchard for 1.5 miles, then take a “soft left” onto Gross Point Road.
After just 0.25 miles, take a “soft right” onto Central Street; continue on Central for 2.5 miles.
Finally, turn right (south) onto Sheridan Road. After 0.5 miles, turn right into Northwestern or continue straight into downtown Evanston for hourly and daily municipal parking garages. 


Getting to Evanston: by Train
Amtrak trains arrive & depart from Chicago’s Union Station. For the Metra go three blocks north on Canal St. from Union Station to Ogilvie Transportation Center (OTC); take the Union Pacific North (UP-N) line. For the L go three blocks east on Jackson Blvd to Quincy/Wells stop on the Loop; take the Purple line north. For either the L or Metra, disembark at Evanston Davis station and walk 0.5 miles northeast to Northwestern.  

Getting to Evanston: by Bus
Greyhound buses arrive & depart from the Chicago Greyhound Station at 630 W Harrison St. For the L, go one block east on Harrison and one block north on Clinton, the Clinton Blue line stop; take the Blue line east to the Loop and transfer to the Purple line north. For the Metra go two blocks east on Harrison and six blocks north on Canal St to Ogilvie Transportation Center (OTC); take the Union Pacific North (UP-N) line. For either L or Metra, disembark at Evanston Davis station and walk 0.5 miles northeast to Northwestern.
