Dear All,

Clark University (Worcester, MA) has a position open in philosophy, and it would be lovely to have applications from qualified female philosophers. Please forward this and share it widely!!

Description of Position for a Tenure-Track Search in Philosophy – 2014

Clark University, Worcester, MA. The Department of Philosophy at Clark University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor, to begin in Fall 2015. Clark is a private, urban, liberal arts-based research university committed to excellence in teaching and research. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated potential in both areas. Engagement with the campus and the usual non-teaching administrative service will also be expected. Clark operates on a semester system, and the standard teaching expectation is four courses per academic year (2/2), at both the introductory and the advanced undergraduate level. AOS: History of Early Modern European Philosophy or Kant. AOC: Open, but an interest in cross-disciplinary linkages is welcome. Clark is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and distinction of our academic community. We are an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and we strongly encourage minorities and women to apply.

PhD required at time of appointment, but we will consider applicants who are currently ABD. Please email complete dossier, including a research statement, a manageable writing sample (article-length), and evidence of teaching effectiveness to the following email address: [log in to unmask] Three confidential letters of recommendation should be sent to the same address. Questions about the completeness of applications should also go to that address. For other inquiries, please contact Judith W. DeCew, Chair of the Department and the Search Committee, at [log in to unmask] Review of applications will begin November 1, and will continue until the position is filled. We will not be performing first-round interviews at the Eastern APA but will instead be conducting remote interviews.

With all best wishes,
Judi DeCew
