Here is a notice on behalf of the current editorial team about Hypatia
submissions.

Hypatia Moratorium on submissions: 15 January - 15 July 2013

Manuscript submissions to Hypatia have grown by over a third in the last
three years, and have increased steeply in the last six months. This all
speaks to the health of the journal, and to a vigorous and growing interest
in feminist philosophy. But it is putting tremendous pressure on the
editorial process; despite an acceptance rate of just 12%, we are at risk of
building up a substantial backlog of accepted articles at just the time when
a new editorial team will be taking over management of the journal (in July
2013).

As difficult a decision as this has been, we have concluded that the best
course is to temporarily suspend all new submissions, and the submission of
previously rejected manuscripts that require full external review. We will
follow the normal review process for all articles that are currently in the
review process; authors whose earlier submissions have been accepted with
minor or major revisions will be able to submit their revised manuscripts
through the "Manuscripts with Decisions" link in their author center. This
moratorium will not affect the submission deadline for the Diversity Essay
Prize; that remains 1 February 2013.

We very much regret any inconvenience this moratorium causes prospective
Hypatia authors and hope you will consider submitting your work to Hypatia
next summer, after 15 July 2013, when the journal will again be accepting
