Newsletter June, 2010

Friends of Pakistan Picnic:

Dear Friends of Pakistan: Assalama Alekum:

I had sent three possible event dates in my earlier message. Our first
program is in now finalized. Here are the details:

Location: Purcell Park, Harrisonburg, VA (See directions below)

Date: Saturday, June 26, 2009

Time: 2:00-Closing

(Since this is potluck picnic, we request that everybody arrive by 3:00 PM,
so we don't have to wait for the last family to arrive until food is served)

Suggested foods to bring: Please bring two of your favorite Pakistani dishes
to share with the community. Please also bring generous quantities of soft
drinks.

All Pakistani-Americans and Friends of Pakistan are invited. If you know
anybody who does not receive e-mails from this listserv, please feel free to
forward it to them. Feel free to bring any guests who might be interested in
this program.

Directions:

Purcell Park is a 67 acre park located on Monument Avenue on the east side
and on S. Main Street on the south side of the park. There are two entrances
to the park - one from Monument Avenue and the other from Miller Circle off
of S. Main Street. The park has 3 softball/baseball fields, 4 tennis courts,
two playground areas, 3 picnic shelters, several restrooms, and a 1.5 mile
walking trail.

If you are coming via Highway 81, take the Port Republic exit and go to
South Main. Any problems with directions, Ehsan Ahmed's cell phone is
