Try approaching the senior by asking for a short visit, explain the project
and let the team and the senior met. My team found the seniors to be happy
to have a visit and came up with lots of ideas for the project after the
first visit. To round out the kids education about seniors, we met will
several seniors for a short time- in the neighborhood, at a local Assisted
Living Home, and a Skilled Nursing Home. We interviewed the staff and
found a friend with a mother in the home to sponsor us to enter the
Alzheimers wing. After several short encounters with seniors the team
brainstormed ideas for the project and decided to help our neighbor. We
don't require him to work for us; we are they to help him. In the process,
he is helping us learn about his needs and how we can use innovation to
overcome obstacles.
