I've been running a 2 hour daily workshop during a 1-week camp for several years. I found that theMindstorm built in lessons work well to both hold the kid's attention and get them to learn how to program the robot. We usually have two kids to a set, sometimes three. I do what I can to make sure that both members of the team do some of the building and some of the programming. They usually get through the first 20 exercises sometime in the third day. Sometimes some of them go on to the next 20. We ask them to plan a demonstration of their robots for the last day. I particularly like to have one that follows a line.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] Robotics camp using FLL

Camp Occohannock on the bay is getting together a robotics camp for one week this summer. I have been asked to help out, we may be pulling in the FRC team 1893.

So are there any ideas or course structure around a one week robotics camp?

We have two NXT kits and parts, two or three PC's and one table and field set up. What else would you recommend for a week camp?

This is the most beautiful place on earth.
