We are seeing about that much of a bone Gap in our set up as well, the bones
do touch when they are pushed together it just leaves a small gap that you
have to cover with the cast. If your half bones are not touching, then I
would think that you have a set up issue.  If you have the dual lock in the
right place it should be good.

As for the the tissue area ours lined up perfectly, you might want to
revisit the build instructions on that one.
