As Scott said, we'll know the details about what can be included in the
robot next week, as well as the specifics of the missions.

FLL is about Science and Technology--we value both expertise and original
thinking. In the Project, we ask teams to reach out and engage with
experts, and then to build upon what they learn. For Robot Design, I
wouldn't want to ask teams to work in a knowledge vacuum, but rather to
build upon what they know and to test new concepts.

  Judges will look to understand:
- Design Process
- Innovation
- Discovery
- Kids Do the Work

Everybody starts somewhere. It might be a design out of the Mindstorms
book, or with experience gained from building robots before. As Nick said,
what is important is where the team goes from there--how it adapts and
changes the robot and the strategy to achieve goals. That's what I am
listening for when I judge.
