How about creating a separate email group for all volunteers going forward. That way we all can thank the volunteers/organizers separately without flooding inbox.

I understand that right before a tournament you have 20 hours worth of work still to do and 3 hours to do it all so you are trying to be efficient with your time and prioritize those things that are important to you… and you are stressed about the lack of time.  Been there.  But I’m sure all of the volunteers who put countless hours into this had something else pressing in their lives too and yet they were still there for us.  So if it takes some people 10 seconds to sort out that unwanted email in order to help pay back volunteers for hours of their time, that’s ok with me.  Or just set your filter to take all email with thanks in the body to put in junk if that 10 sec per email is really that important to you.  But let’s not stop giving thanks.  At the end of the tournament, regardless of your results, I do hope your team takes the time out of their busy schedules to stop and give thanks to you.  Mandy  From: First Lego League in

Subject: Re: [VADCFLL-L] TJHSST Tournament yesterday, 11/07/2010  Dear All,   I would like to respectfully suggest, this list will be more effective if every person is not tempted to give thanks for every tournament that occurs these next two weeks.  We know you love this stuff!  So do we all J!!! Please just thank profusely every volunteer you see at the tournament, so we don’t all wear out our delete keys and can find the e-mails we need to get ready for our tournaments.  It really is hard for me to sort through the e-mails every day but I really want my team to benefit from me being knowledgeable – I believe many people may also suffer a time shortage or I would not send this e-mail.    Thank you,  Scrooge (but I do have a point I hope you can see)      From: First Lego League in Virginia and DC [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Enit Kaduku

Subject: Re: [VADCFLL-L] Maggie Walker FLL  On behalf of the Fairfield Court Elementary Eaglebots team 1999 we want to thank all of the judges, volunteers, and coordinators at Maggie Walker FLL. It was a great event. The team enjoyed it thoroughly. All but one of the students on the team were new to LEGO! They were already talking about next at the end of the day yesterday! See you next year and thanks again.                                          Jacki
