10:00 – 10:30 AM: Saivivek Thiyagarajan, Executive Director – Verizon

Leading Digital transformation with focus on Mobile platforms, AI driven
customer experience and advanced analytics Specialties: Mobile/Web
applications, microservices, Cloud, Devops, machine learning, Cognitive
computing, AI based conversational Bots, Automation. Saivivek is a graduate
from Birla Institute Technology and MBA from University of Maryland.

11:00 – 11:30 AM: Akash Pamal and Mithran Mohanraj, STEM Ambassadors, Magic
with Science

Magic is one of the oldest and most successful performing arts. Akash and
Mithran, who are great fans of Harry Potter, are also deeply passionate
about science. They will use science to perform magic tricks and reveal the
secret in this live and entertaining show. This will be a memorable science
demonstration. Do not miss it!

12:00 – 12:30 PM: Deepesh Saxena, Director IT – Ciena

A business savvy tech, experienced in IT Strategy & Vision. A leader with
over 25 yrs. Global experience in Enterprise and Corporate Systems. Deepesh
holds FCA and Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School. Having
worked in multiple capacities and roles he has strategically aligned
himself to concepts of ITIL, Project Management, DevOps and Scrum.

12:30 – 01:30 PM: Timothy Larson, Topic: Cyber Security Expert

Timothy has worked in a variety of positions over the past thirty years
including IT consulting, systems engineering, software engineering, and IT
operations. He is currently finishing up a Masters of Information
Technology from Virginia Tech that included work in Software Engineering,
Information Security and Analytics, and Information Technology Management.
His last professional security presentation was at the Gartner Security &
Risk Management Summit in 2009.

01:30 – 02:00 PM: Tandra D. Turner, FBI – Director Projects, Topic Women in
STEM

Tandra D. Turner has worked for Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for
over 25 years in the Information Technology Field. She currently leads
multiple software development teams. Ms. Turner is a graduate from Hampton
University with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and a Master
Certificate in Technology Management from University of Maryland University
College (UMUC). She is a member of Federally Employed Women (FEW) and has
served as the Vice President of the Northwest DC Chapter. FEW is an
advocacy group established to improve the status of women employed by the
federal government. On a personal note, Ms. Turner loves spending time with
family and friends, doing volunteer work, traveling and teaching group
exercise classes in her spare time.

02:30 – 03:00 PM: Dr. Yukti Sharma, Professor NOVA

Dr. Yukti Sharma is an experienced scientist in the field of neuroscience.
She has worked on Alzheimer’s disease and published many papers in
peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor. Currently, Dr. Yukti is
working as Professor in northern Virginia Community College. She has been
teaching different courses like microbiology, anatomy and physiology and
other biology courses for past six years. Yukti has done Ph.D. And Masters
In toxicology from India. She has research experience for more than
10years. She is experienced with all different skills in work in Lab like
confocal microscopy, fluorescent microscopy, and immunostaining. In her
free time, Yukti likes to cook and spend time with her family.


03:00 – 03:30 PM: Dr. Linval Crosdale, Professor University of Maryland
University College

Dr. Linval Crosdale received his undergraduate education at the University
of the District of Columbia where he received a B.B.A. in Accounting, and
shortly succeeded in earning the professional designation as Certified
Public Accountant in the District of Columbia, where he is currently
licensed to practice. In 1999, he earned his M.B.A degree at Howard
University while he worked as an Accounting Manager at Edison Electric
Institute. After working at the United States Chamber of Commerce as a
Budget Director, Dr. Crosdale returned to Howard University to pursue
doctoral studies in Economics. In 2004, he accepted a position as Chief
Financial Officer with the Leon H. Sullivan Founation while he completed
classroom requirements for his PhD. Dr. Crosdale received a PhD in
Economics in 2007 with a concentration in Monetary Policy and Banking. His
Dissertation is available at the Library of Congress, entitled “The New
Basel Accord and Risk Exposure: A Case Study of a Commercial Bank in
Jamaica”

04:00 – 04:30 PM: Dr. Randy Lizardo, Surgeon | Topic Doctor Roboto:
Robotics in Medicine

Dr. Randy Lizardo is a board certified minimally invasive surgeon who
specializes in robotic and laparoscopic surgery. He is an assistant
clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington
University where he did his medical training. He is the founding chair of
the robotic committee at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland
which was the first hospital in Montgomery County to provide da Vinci
robotic Surgery. In 2017, his peers voted him as a Top Doc in Washingtonian
Magazine. He grew up loving science, building Lego models, and racing
remote control cars in his spare time.
