As we did last year, we are working with a number of local hotels to block rooms for the championship tournament.  We are in the negotiating with a number of hotels now and will notify the teams who have - or who this weekend will - advance to the championship as soon as we have finalized the details (I expect to know more by the end of the week).  We will also post details to the Web site.  We look forward to seeing many of you in Harrisonburg!

I have been looking into hotels for the state tournament in Harrisonburg and am trying to get a better hotel rate.  Unless the tournament directors are planning on blocking rooms, I am going to try to block several rooms in order to get a better rate.  Currently we are looking at the Courtyard Marriot, which is normally $129.00 per night for both nights, the 5th and 6th.  In order to block rooms, I would need to reserve at least 10 rooms, although the more rooms blocked the better the rate.  Our team only needs 8 rooms.  Are there any other teams interested and roughly how many rooms would you need?  I will be speaking to the manager tomorrow to talk room rate and would love to have an estimated number of rooms to negotiate with.  I know many teams have not competed yet, so I will include a few more rooms to accommodate those teams.   There are several hotels in the area, this is just the one our team is interested in.
