Hi Michele!
Yes, there will be a pit area on the robot day, and teams bring their
research displays and set them up on tables.  It is in the hallways outside
of the gym.  It is crowded and there are tons of people, but it is a lot of
fun for the kids.  They get to walk around and see all of the other teams'
work and meet other teams.  Many teams do bring something to hand out,
often related to their project, but you don't have to.  There is not a pit
area on Saturday, however.
