I've been a successful research coach for 8+ years and I've interpreted the
"types" of sources as being books versus magazines or journals or experts
or Internet article or newspapers etc.

So, all experts are considered only one type of source. Sure ok to
interview different experts. Use the animal expert to gain knowledge and
present your solution the technology expert and get feedback.
