You've heard me go on about professionalism, gracious and otherwise. And you've all heard about US Airways flight 1549 landing in the Hudson.

Not to take anything away from the crew, who were of course professional in the extreme, but they were reacting to save their lives; equally heroic in my book is Patrick Harten, ATC L116 at New York TRACON (Terminal Radar Approach Control) LaGuardia Departure. He kept it together, managing all the OTHER planes he had in the air and talking to other airports as he tried to help 1549. And when 1549 dropped off radar and out of radio contact, he continued *to do his job*. There were a few more "uhs" in his speech than at the beginning, but at no time did he panic, despite no doubt assuming he'd just played a part in dropping 75 tons of airplane on top of one of the most densely populated areas of the country.

The link below has both a PDF and a podcast of the transcript from Air Traffic Control. Your teams might find it interesting, and it's a good object lesson.
