NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., will open to the public
in September for six hours of facility tours and activities for all
ages.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, visitors will be able to
see the latest cool stuff Langley is working on, talk with researchers
and take part in hands-on activities related to science, technology,
engineering and math.

You'll also be able to see some of the historic landmarks that made
Langley famous in the 95 years since we were created as the nation's
first civilian aeronautics research lab.

Langley's last open house in 2007 drew some 20,000 visitors. Help us
beat that number this year!

What we do

NASA's Journey to Tomorrow traveling exhibit is an interactive
informal learning environment that shares the excitement of
exploration with visitors. The highlight of the experience is the
ultimate artifact -- a real moon rock returned from one of the Apollo
lunar landing missions.

NASA Langley engineers are helping develop spacecraft to send humans
beyond Earth orbit; researching technologies to make aircraft safer,
more efficient and environmentally friendly, and studying Earth's
atmosphere to better understand climate change.

That work is being carried out in laboratories all across our 800-acre
facility next to Langley Air Force Base.

Buses will be available to take visitors to tour stops -- or you can walk.
