We had some of the tiny, easier-to-lose pieces left over as extras, just
like we do with every other Lego set that comes into our house.  But I
wouldn't say it was an alarming number.  You might want to go back and
double check some things, or even be sure they built all the mission
models.  There were lots of little models this year with all of the
groceries, bacteria, etc.
