The Field Setup instructions, page 12, under the heading Field Maintenance
(it's right before the Missions) specify how to handle the mat:

"For control of extreme curl at the east or west edges of the mat, tape is
allowed, with a maximum of ¼" (6 mm) overlap. Foam tape is not allowed. Do
NOT put Dual Lock under the mat, or use it in any other than securing
models as described."

Please feel free to chide any tournaments that put foam tape or dual lock
under the mat.

We will definitely not glue any mats to the tournament tables.
