Good point. We use Bluetooth all the time in our working sessions it saves a great amount of time, but it is not allowed in the competition (even in the pits) – you need to use the USB cable.

Tx for your suggestion Jin. I’ll keep the group posted if I find anything.

First if all we all know the bluetooth is not allowed in FLL games. But, FLLers can certainly utilize it for NXT programming training, etc.

Like Eric, I haven't use the NXT bluetooth with a laptop bluetooth (built-in or added-on). However I have troubleshoot the installation issue on Microsoft Window bluetooth when I tried to use the bluetooth on the cellphone transfer the photos to a laptop with a bluetooth dongle so I think I can offer a suggestion - Try pair a cellphone with the laptop. If it doesn't work the problem is most likely on the laptop. If the problem stays after you reinstall the bluetooth software, you may need to clean up "hidden/inactivative device" in Device Manger adn then reinstall the driver. the How-to is here - http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/811/xp_vista_remove_hidden_devices/

Microsoft's bluetooth troubleshooting guide is here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883258

Good luck!

Jin

Yes on the guide walls coming up. Been resetting them frequently.

We are not using Bluetooth so I can't help with #2.

1. Anyone having trouble with the guide walls coming apart all the time? The Velcro raises them off the field mat just enough that when you press down on the wall (or if the robot runs over it) the bricks can loosen up or come apart.

2. We noticed that the Bluetooth adapter (the official one sold by Lego, blue “Abe” brand) isn’t working on our Windows XP system ever since we upgraded the NXT firmware and/or installed the new Mindstorms software. Bluetooth works fine on our Vista system, and on a Macintosh we’ve used, but not on our XP system. It worked fine last year with the same computer, NXT and Bluetooth dongle. We’ve started over and reinstalled drivers, reassociated the NXT using the Bluetooth system setup, etc . Anyone else run into this?

Tx
