I wouldn't worry about accidental damage. The general rule is that it's gotta look deliberate and/or play into the team's strategy (I guess that would imply deliberate). I.e., if your robot tries to make points by going over the guide walls, knocking them down in the process, that would probably NOT be acceptable. If they're known to be fragile and they fall over when bumped, it's as likely to hurt as help, and is not (or at least should not be) penalizable (hmm, apparently that's not a word, but you know what I mean!).

And yes, sometimes they will be glued -- but you can't count on that, either.

I'll have to go back and read the rule again about if we damage the guide
walls unintentionally. They are just a fragile design.  But if the walls are
not solid it may change the behavior of the robots and the time it takes for
the judges to piece them together may be a factor.
