I highly recommend this opportunity!! We did this last year and had a great
time. It was a great learning experience. We got to see FLL from a judges
perspective. I think coaches are always interested in what other teams are
doing and this is a great opportunity to see the work of other teams. Our
kids were able to volunteer too. They fed us breakfast and lunch and gave
us cool t-shirts. This is Maryland's first year to have regional
tournaments, before they just had the State Tournament in January.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] FW: Qualfing site moved to UMBC- Volunteers Needed

All you NOVA teams, coaches and mentors,

UMBC is our Maryland Partner for FLL. They are in need of volunteers for
their upcoming tournament. Now that ours is over - if you have an
opportunity - please contact Jamie Gurganus directly. She and Dr. Spense
have supported several DC and NOVA teams through the Maryland Qualifier in
the past so I would appreciate any support you could provide them.

Our "kids" would make great table setters and general support volunteers and
we all benefit from sharing our time and experiences with each other.

Thanks - and Happy Holidays to all FLLers.

Nick

All:

Next Saturday Owings Mills Qualifier will now be held at UMBC. The host
became very sick and was rushed to the hospital. The school didn't have
anyone to really take over and no one in BCPS seems to be able to help at
this point. So, we are scrambling now to get some volunteers. This is a 19
team Qualifier. We need judges, scores, refs, queres, pit... all thee
above.

We will start the Qualifier at 8:30 with checkin, 9:30 opening ceremony

10-12 Judging

12pm Lunch

1-3pm Robot Rounds

Thank you all!!!!
