The Crestwood Monarchs would like to give a big shout-out to all of the organizers and volunteers at Maggie Walker's tournament today. Ya'll made everybody feel great all day we appreciate all that you did to get the touranament running like clockwork. Everybody was smiling and offering words of support, the team had a great time. Hopefully, we will be back again next year.

Thanks,

Lloyd

I just wanted to thank everyone on the calibration advice- the team quickly learned the downloadable calibration program and it didn't affect the programming they had done at all- and they didn't need to change their program- or use a computer at tournament. Our team had a lot of fun today- thanks to everyone at the Science Museum of VA for making it a great day for all. Their line following program did work during tournament and they were excited about that. Good luck to all those teams that will be moving on to State Championships and thanks to the whole community for their support- it's great to have this network as a new coach.   A special thanks to Jamie and his son for a special phone call (they are in Ohio we are in Richmond, Va) two nights prior to the tournament to talk about the advance palette calibration block- it was too complicated to have the kids learn and integrate two days before tournament- but the time he and his son spent talking LD to my son in a teaching/mentoring mode was awesome- and has motivated my son to learn more about advanced palette blocks for next year. What a great community!

Surprisingly, last year was the first time I had ever run into this situation. Plus, I am pretty hard-nosed about computers in the competition area.

Generally, other teams have written an NXT program to do their calibration and they must have set a variable that could be used by the program using the sensor.

I suggest you contact your tournament to see if some accomodation can be reached to allow computer use for calibration outside the time of the robot rounds, e.g. first thing in the morning.

My team is using light sensor- they have been taking the average of white and black readings and imputing that theshold into their program. How can they callibrate at the tournament when they can't have a computer at the table to adjust the threshold if necessary?
      Thanks

The form is available at http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Community/FLL/Events/TeamInfoSheet.pdf.

You should bring four copies to the tournament - one for registration and one for each of the judging panels.

When I did the tournament last year, we had to fill out a team information form to hand to all of the judges. It had a list of every member of our team and answered four questions about our overall experience. Are we doing that list this year? If so, where might I find the form as a pdf or jpg? Please forgive me if this has already been answered.
