Please use the list to find out where your team is assigned.  Be careful to look up the correct team number – some teams have the same or very similar names this year (there are six teams with the name “Astrobots”).  Make sure that your division is correct (if the birthdays you listed are correct, the division is correct).

Assignments were made on a first-come, first-serve basis, though some adjustments did have to be made due to not having enough teams at a particular tournament to run the tournament or to have both divisions at the tournament.  A few important notes:

*  Manassas, Ashburn and Woodbridge will be Division 1 only (we did not have enough division 2 teams to hold that division at the tournaments)
*  Alexandria and Chesterfield were cancelled due to lack of teams.  Teams that selected those tournaments were placed in other tournaments based on first-come, first-serve, looking at their second and third choices, just like all other teams.
*  A few of the tournaments were VERY popular and we are simply not able to place all the teams that want to go to those events into them.  Chantilly had 58 teams select it as a first choice, with only 24 slots, Henrico had 24 teams select it as a first choice by 6 minutes into the selection period and 39 teams picking it first choice (again, only 24 slots available).
*  The Norfolk event will be changing location (it will not be at Norview).  We’re still finalizing details with the location but it will be the same day and just a few miles away from Norview so I don’t expect any teams to have an issue with the change.  We will send the new location directly to the teams impacted.

With all of that, we were still able to get 401 teams (82.2% of teams) into their first choice, 57 into their 2nd choice (11.7%), 19 into their 3rd choice (3.9%) and only had 11 that we could not get into one of their top three choices (and all of those were put into tournaments in the same area and on the same day as another event that was in their top 3 choices).

So, if you didn’t get your top choice(s), it is because the tournament was full before I got to your registration, based on the first-come, first-serve.  Please do not ask us to switch you to your first choice because there is not any space left.  There are still a few tournaments with space so if you do want to switch, we need to know ASAP (by Friday, 10/19 - we will not allow changes after that date since tournament directors need time to write schedule and plan for their events) and these are the ONLY options:
*  November 3rd: Harrisonburg, Glen Allen
*  November 10th: York County, Abingdon, Bedford, Washington 1 (McKinley)
*  November 17th: Stafford

Your tournament directors are hard at work planning and should be reaching out to you by 10/24 to say hello (they may not email earlier because I won’t send out the list of teams to the tournaments until this weekend in case we do have any changes).
