Day one will be the Research Presentations and Teamwork Judging events, both
of which are not open to spectators.  Sunday will be the Robot Performance
and Technical Judging, so that is the day for visitors.  Typically, one half
of the day is spent doing various activities around JMU and the other half
is the judging sessions (Saturday).  Sunday is wall-to-wall robots (5-6
tables running at the same time)

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] State Tournament Question

 

We are a first year team who will be going to Harrisonburg.  I see it is two
days, and wondered if anyone could give details concerning what to expect.
For example, is the first day more focused on project presentations and
events that parents and the public do not observe, while the second day is
more spectator oriented?  Should I recommend entire families attend one or
both days, or is it better to suggest something else?  (We have a mix of
older and younger siblings- the younger ones get easily bored and cranky;
the teens start out that way.)

 

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

A big thanks to all who run the Chantilly HS event yesterday- We had a great
time.
