First Lego League Project Sharing and Scrimmage.

Robotics for Youth is hosting an FLL project sharing and Scrimmage event
at the NySmith School for Gifted (3625 EDS Dr, Herndon, VA)
on Saturday, October 28th between 12 PM - 5:30 PM.

Teams can share their research project with the other teams who are participating in this event.

Why project sharing is important
If you look at the FLL rubrics, you will see that you need to share your project with different people, and so we are creating a scenario where all the teams come together to share the projects with each other, their parents, and also with some experts we are inviting.

If your robot is not doing what you want it to do, it will be a good idea to run on a different table and with different lighting conditions to see exactly what is happening with your robot.

Because each team takes around 15 minutes to present their project, we will have to limit the number of teams coming in to around 12.

Important
We are putting a cap of 12 teams for the event due to the time limitation. There are 10 teams that already registered. We should be able to take 2 more and put you in a waiting list, if it goes beyond 12. We shall let you know if you are waitlisted. We shall take every effort to try to accommodate everyone if the time permits.

This event is meant to focus on three main aspects of FLL. This will give a big advantage for your team.

Sharing
Coopertition
Outreach

Project Sharing includes the following:

5 Minutes of project presentation
5 minutes for a skit/performance if they have one
5 minutes of questions from panel and audience

If the team doesn't have a skit/performance, they can use the Power-point attached. Please fill in the necessary information.

If your team has a skit/performance, please present it in this event.

This is not a project judging event, but an event for sharing your project with others, which is required as part of the project.

FLL Scrimmage

FLL teams should bring their current robot with their program(s), a programming laptop, and their supplies to practice/compete in scoring points from the missions. Referees will be scoring the missions as to assist the teams in understanding the scoring.
Fund-raising

We are also fundraising for the Puerto Rico hurricane victims. We are trying to fund-raise for the following items. This will take care of the Coopertition and Outreach. This fundraising is also connected with Hydro Dynamics theme.

We expect a $25 donation to support the above cause.

We will be printing a check with the total amount of donations. You may take a picture with your team holding the check. There will be photo op for the teams so they can add this experience to their list of accomplishments as a First Lego League team.
