This is the NCS Alpha Eagles first season. We are on hiatus until after Thanksgiving when we will return to 1X week meetings. They are inspired to program more and want to host a "scrimmage tournament" with a few teams from the USPTO tournament November 8th. I am looking for a date in the spring (after Easter?). If you are interested, email me.

I planned on taking off until December, but the students were opposed to that. We are going to continue meeting after all and they have asked their mentors to teach them about sensors. We actually have a new member here today and they are having a play day with games, food , movies and table time with the robot. I am going to try to convince them that one meeting a week is enough until January. We are planning for the next event which for us is (courtesy of our magnificent sponsors in DCPS) in February so the students have a goal. I am glad they are deciding to continue. Thank you, cho C. H. Osman STEM Coordinator

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] What do your teams do in the "off" season?

I'm wondering if any teams keep meeting, hanging out, do volunteer work, etc. together in the off season. I'm thinking of inviting the team to do game nights, laser tag, maybe volunteer at a local animal shelter or something and I'm looking for other ideas.

Thank you!
