What i am actually avoiding is working with the average overindulged student. Im not even sure i want to teach after i finish my second grad program.
The places where the nonaverage go to school are places where tenureis offered on a limited basis. My major problem with tenure for myself is that i dont want to be sitting on elitist commitees talking about nothing all day, its a waste of time. While i dont want any part of something i am excluded from originally there may be others like me who are being excluded for no reason and they should have a choice. Anyone who would choose to mentor in an elitist program wouldnt be anyone i would work with anyway, they knew it was elitist, it said it right there after the word only. I was trying to get others included because they may want to be and because it is wrong.
I also notice this was posted a few days before i saw it so anyone who had already read it was cool with exclusion on an arbitrary elitist basis since noone had said anything about it.
The more i see of academia the less i want anything to do with it.
Best
