TREASURER, MIDWEST DIVISION OF SWIP (term 2 years)
The Midwest Division of the Society for Women in Philosophy is looking for a new Treasurer.  If you are interested in the position, please send a brief statement of your interest and qualifications to Gaile Pohlhaus ([log in to unmask]) and Crista Lebens ([log in to unmask]) no later than February 28, 2009.


The Treasurer’s main responsibilities include managing the organization’s
finances and membership list.  She will also work with the other Midwest SWIP officers to help develop and implement the direction of Midwest SWIP.  Due to her involvement in these activities, the MWSWIP Treasurer is expected to attend the annual Fall meeting during her two year term.  Finally, the MWSWIP Treasurer should plan to serve as a consultant to her replacement in the year following her term.

Primary Duties:
1)  Encourage members to renew or join MWSWIP via email solicitations.
2)  Keep track of memberships and maintain the MWSWIP bank and paypal accounts. 
3)  Write and distribute travel fund checks at the Fall meeting. 
4)  Contribute thoughts and ideas on issues of importance to the Midwestern division and the umberalla organization of SWIP.
