Adoption ban moving forward in KY

KY Senate Bill - SB 68


The Kentucky State Senate Judiciary Committee recently passed a harmful adoption ban. This bill would prohibit adoption or foster parenting by any individual "cohabiting with a sexual partner outside of a marriage that is legally valid in Kentucky."

SB 68 is aimed directly at the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community; but it also prohibits adoption or foster parenting by unmarried heterosexual couples.

This bill obviously works against the best interest of children in the Commonwealth who need and deserve loving homes.
