Eric, Henrico county and eleven other cities and counties pay for slots for their students to attend Maggie Walker regional governor's school.  Maggie Walker has a mandatory community service requirement to earn a high school diploma.  It might interest Henrico County Public Schools ("HCPS") to know that Maggie Walker students, regardless of the home school system, receive community service credit toward their diploma by mentoring FLL teams and assisting at tournaments.  FLL related activities have been approved at Maggie Walker since at least 2006 when I began enlisting their students to mentor FLL teams.  Phil Tharp, Director of Administration at Maggie Walker was my contact.
