Everyone,
This is usually an issue with the mats being slightly smaller than the regulation table.  The instructions last year indicated which corner should be flush with the edge, tho I have not looked for this year yet.  We have been known to put a small piece of the velcro to lock down the corners.

Team 956 is using a table that another team has used for years and that team
was very successful during those years. The table is regulation sized.

This years challenge mat is small by about 3/4 of an inch in the long
direction and maybe 3/8 in the short direction. Are other teams seeing the
mat not fully fit the table?

Thanks

Hi Eric,I did not measure, but there is a tiny amount of space around the
sides of our mat too. It was the same way last year. We just positioned
ours as far to the left and down as we could, so that it lined up with the
left and bottom sides. I can't remember if we were told specifically to do
this or not. There will be an ongoing Q & A blog that coaches can post
questions to, and get official answers from FLL, once the season starts. So
that might be a good place to ask.

I noticed the same thing on our mat and have asked FIRST folks for guidance. If
I get anything I'll put it out here.

Hi guys,
I just found the answer on the FIRST site. Read Step 3 under the section
"Field Mat Placement".
