Thank you fro posting this.  I think this may be what was happening to us also.  We have also had a problem with programming the robot to do something and it does not do the last step, or it skips a step, and I was starting to wonder if we needed to download something.  How do I know if I have the latest firmware downloaded?  We downloaded firmware last year, and everything was fine then.  It is just recently that we've had this issue.

Thanks,
Sonya in Harrisonburg

Nick,

Thanks!  Where can we download this version from?  Or do I need to contact Lego Education to get it?
When I check for online updates through NXTG it only shows v1.26.

Cari,

I noted the same problem this summer after updating to the new 2.0 software.  This update involved a firmware upgrade to version 1.26 (I think this is provided in the education software purchased through the legoeducation.com website).

I spoke with folks at LEGO/FIRST who were surprised to hear there were any issues but they provided v1.28 – (which I think ships with the commercial version of the software). After we upgraded we didn’t have any more lock-ups.

We've been experiencing a problem of our NXTs locking up frequently.  Has anyone else experienced this?

We have several bricks and this happens on all the bricks, which I would think would indicate it isn't a hardware problem.  We haven't had this problem prior to this season.   Our firmware is up to date on all the bricks. We are using the 2.0 version that has the datalogging capability.

We know how to reset the NXT brick and  after we reset it, it is fine for a time.  We have to remove the NXT brick to do so... this would be terrible if it happened at the tournament... especially as the announcer says 3-2-1 LEGO!

Any ideas of things to try?

Thanks,

Cari N
