Bring the family! This event is free and open to the general public. Watch high school student-built robots compete. Visit Technology Row, Scholarship Row and our FIRST Expo, featuring Junior FIRST LEGO League, FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge exhibits and activities.
We have several exciting outreach opportunities for teams during the Washington DC Regional.
Field Trips to the DC Regional
We are offering Field Trips to the DC Regional (please refer to the flyer - CLICK HERE) on Friday and Saturday. Team ambassadors will lead small groups (5-6 students and an adult) on tours of the Pit Area and FIRST EXPO.
FIRST EXPO
On Friday and Saturday, we welcome local Jr.FLL, FLL and FTC teams to exhibit during our FIRST Expo (LEGO models, WeDo kits, NXT and TETRIX robots only).
FIRST EXPO Hours:
2 Jr.FLL teams, 1 FLL team and 1 FTC are desired for each 3-4 hour time slot
Available Time Slots:
Friday, March 5, 2010
7:30 am – 11:30 am (VIP Breakfast)
11:30 pm – 3:30 pm (VIP Lunch)
Saturday, March 6, 2010
9 am – 12 pm
12 pm – until Closing Ceremonies
Volunteers:
One DC Regional volunteer will be available to explain exhibits and restock literature as needed. Team mentors are expected to monitor their students and robots at all times.
Convention Center to provide:
Tables - 9
Electricity - 2 outlets (one for FLL, one for FTC)
FIRST to provide:
FIRST brochures, folders, literature, FLL ½ table with Smart Moves field mat and missions, HotShot! field and game elements
Teams to provide:
Jr.FLL: Show Me Posters and models
FLL and FTC: Robots, laptop, pit decorations, tri-folds, notebooks, research presentation props, engineering notebooks - anything within reason that you want to carry in that will showcase your team!
