I should have done a quick search first. The link is on the FLL site at http://www.firstlegoleague.org/media/twocol.aspx?id=247 and is the link “Overhead view of field” under “Robot Game”. The direct link to the image is http://www.firstlegoleague.org/uploadedImages/Challenge_Specific/Body_Forward/FLL%202010%20Body%20Forward%20Robot%20Game%20Playing%20Field%20-%20NEW.jpg.

Sonya,
The thumb and fingers do not close onto one another to grab anything. The arm is the only thing that moves and it will grab the bed and pull it off the stand.
BTW: It sounds like you assembled it correctly.
I see your other question regarding the placement of items. I found a picture of the field once it is setup which helped get everything in place. I don’t recall where I saw it though. If I find it, I will send out the link.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] mechanical hand
Hello,
I have a question about the mechanical hand holding the patent. We assembled the model according to the directions, but the "thumb" does not grab anything. There are parts like a rubber band that make you think that the hand is supposed to move in some way, like it is able to have the fingers close down around something, but ours doesn't, unless you just physically push the fingers together. Have we assembled this correctly? Because the only thing you can do is just push the arm forward, but the hand does not actually grab the patent. We would love to know what is supposed to happen. Many thanks for your time!
