Apparently upload will upload the compiled program to your computer and not the program that you wrote. When you download to the NXT, the compiled program gets downloaded and not the xyz.rbt.

So, always take back ups.

Hi Stephanie,

We are not sure, but I just had William look on the program. He connected the robot to the computer with the USB cable, turned the robot on, and clicked on that button in the top left corner of those buttons around the download button.  This is where you go to check the battery levels, firmware version, etc.  If you click on the memory tab, then check "show system files", there is something that comes up that says upload and download, so maybe you can Upload it from there, back to your computer?  I am really not sure, though.

But we ALWAYS back up many times throughout the practice session onto a flash drive, so that if something happened to the computer, all is not lost.  Actually, the kids back up on two different flash drives, because they are ultra cautious!

Hope you guys can recover your work!  Before you do anything, you might want to let the kids run the program and take a video of it, so that they can go back and re-trace their steps if it comes down to having to rewrite the program.

My students lost a program from the computer, but still have it on the robot.  We haven't been able to load it back on the computer for further work.  Can anyone help?
