All,
I was waiting to post my answer about using a cart to the Championship list, but I am happy to share it with everyone.

There's no problem with having a small cart at the competition tables, but there is very little room to store it in the pit, or to practice with it in the practice area, or to have it in the queueing area in the competition area (especially for a larger team). So it is allowed, but I don't recommend bringing one--I would expect that it will inconvenience you and other teams more than it will help your team.

For purposes of Storage (rule 19), each competition table and each practice table will have a chair available to serve as a stand to hold a storage box or to be a surface to store robot attachments and other objects.

The Body Forward robot game's storage rule is very strict about where attachments and other items may be kept. It says that "Team members other than the two at the table may not hold equipment." So a team member tagging in at the table may not be holding an attachment while away from the table. He or she must pick up what is needed from the storage box or from Base when becoming a robot handler. Team members away from the table may not hold a storage box on behalf of a team.

If there are exceptional circumstances that apply to a team regarding any of the robot game rules, please let me know in advance of the tournament.

I would like to second this question. I never saw an answer.
At our local tournament, a team member was allowed to hold a box with jigs and other things the team needed and kids could take them to the playing field as they needed them (in other words, when kids tagged in to go to the board they could bring with them what they needed). We did not have a cart. Will this be allowed at states/championship?
Thanks.

Dear Steve,

First, let me thank you and your referees for running both Reston tournaments last weekend in an outstanding fashion.

Second, a question for the VA/DC FLL championship tournament: what is the official ruling on whether small carts will be allowed near the robot performance tables? They have been allowed the last few years.

Warmest regards,
