Congratulations to all teams invited to the VA/DC FLL Championship Tournament!

If your team is a Division 1 team, then the student activities are after lunch.  Division 2 team activities are after the Opening Ceremony.  The activities are about 2 hours long.  Some activities will be at Memorial Hall; some are held in other locations within the JMU campus (shuttle buses are provided).  FLL team members will be met by volunteer JMU students and escorted to their activities.  They will be picked up from the Memorial Hall Auditorium...and dropped off at Memorial Hall after their activities.

I would advice for coaches to determine a meeting place for your team members to go to after their activity.  A specific area in the Auditorium would be a good meeting place.  This is important since your team members will be coming from various activities/locations and you need to make sure that all team members are accounted for after their student activities.  

During the 2-hour period that your team members are at their student activities, coaches and parents/family members can use this time to relax or catch up on your own work.  There may be some activities within Memorial Hall; the Disney movie, Ratatouille, will be showing in the Auditorium at Memorial Hall.  Stroll around the JMU campus or check-out sites in Old Town Harrisonburg.  Here's a list of a few activities at Harrisonburg this weekend: http://www.vadcfll.org/pdf/Activities.pdf

Hi there everybody,
 
My team is headed for the state tournament this weekend for the first time.  My question is what happens during the student activities from a coach's standpoint?  Am I suppose to hang around, attend one of the activities, disappear?  I'm debating on bringing the family along with me, and didn't know if I was going to be needed during that time.  Thanks.
