You know I might of answered this wrong. like totally wrong. I was thinking team mentor, not "Senior" mentor as in the project.  Duh. Sorry for the misdirection.

You might want to consider a mentor to help you understand the intricacies and approaches that coaches can leverage as well as a team mentor.  Team mentors come in all flavors from high school students to seasoned coaches.  High School students usually meet most meetings but interact with the kids a lot.

I think it is likely at this point in the season that a more senor mentor can help for a couple of meetings. But the mentor candidates will have an opinion.

I would caution you to not have an adult come in and help the team directly over several meetings and then leave the team. That may confuse your leadership role. Probably better to have them observe and then provide you feedback.

Hi Everyone

Forgive me for my newbie questions, I am a rookie coach with an all rookie
team.  our goal is to maybe be in the running for the rookie award as it
seems this FLL thing is pretty challenging indeed.

Anyways -  We are still locating a Senior Mentor. I have read the info and
my question is - how much time should we prepare our Senior Mentor for?  I
would like to make sure we are up front with our mentor on how much time we
might need.  Any thoughts on how many times to meet with a mentor for the
project?  It seems like it could just be one meeting but I am wondering if
there is hidden needs to meet with the mentor for more time.

thanks
