The mission only requires that the robot be on the center platform at the end of the match.  It doesn't say anything about how the robot gets there, so any method that is okay with the rest of the rules (i.e. the robot travels autonomously, under its own power) is fine.

Can the robot climb the center platform using ramp or steps?

I believe the robot can only be touching the center platform to get points
it says,"
— Robot touching tilted center platform only: 45
— OR —
— Robot touching balanced center platform only: 65
For either case:
The center platform must not be touching anything but the mat and the robot.
The center platform must remain between the stairs and the ramp."

Hello all,
My team has a question on the transitions mission. The rule says " the robot gets onto the center platform". Does this mean the robot has to be completely off the ramp and/or stairs and only on the center platform to get the 65 points or as long as some part of robot is on the center platform, they get the points.

And what if robot is carrying an attachment, does that also have to be completely on the center platform? We also have seen at times that the robot does get to the platform but either its back wheel or another small part is in the gap between the platform and the ramp, so how will this be judged?

Thanks
